Jersey Monday: LeBron James

As I mentioned, I was in Miami last week for the Heat's season-opening win over the Celtics, where they celebrated their 2012 NBA championship. I hadn't intended on buying another LeBron James Heat jersey, since I already had the three main ones (white, black, red alternate), but this one caught my eye.

It's hard to tell from the small picture (click on it to get a bigger version), but the jersey number is trimmed in gold, as is the one on the front and the HEAT lettering on the front. The front also has a Larry O'Brien trophy patch, which the Heat wore on their game jerseys in the opener.

This "championship" jersey has another feature that's even harder to see in the photo -- the normal "mesh" on the Adidas jerseys has been replaced with a pinstriped pattern that says "2012 NBA Champions". It's basically embedded into the fabric and really hard to see unless you're very close to the jersey. But it's a pretty cool feature, making this one-night jersey a little more special than your typical throwback or alternate.

This jersey probably isn't going to be worn often, if at all. It's basically just for the collection, but I'm still happy I got it.

Jersey Monday should continue every Monday until I run out of jerseys to spotlight. And since I’ve got more than 190 of them, that could be awhile.
