In Review: October's Best

Another month, another milestone. Yes, the site did set another traffic record in October, but that's not what I'm talking about this being the 500th post on in 2010. That's easily the most I've ever posted in a year and more than 2008 and 2009 combined (464). I can't promise that I'll have another 500 next year, but 2010's been fun, right?

OK, on to the top five, and in case you don't remember from last month, here's the drill: is one of the vanity domains for this site. At the start of each month, I use it to spotlight the 5 most "awesome" posts of the previous month (aka the 5 posts that drew the most traffic).

5. Nicholas Brendon Q&A at 2010 New England Comic Con
This was linked on both Nick Brendon's official Twitter and Facebook pages, so much thanks to Jacqui for that. And, hell, thanks to Nick for answering all our questions. Not to go all Chris Farley Show on you, but that was awesome.

4. James Marsters Transcript from New England Comic Con Q&A
Just edging out Brendon's videos was this full text transcript of the James Marsters Q&A. I would have loved to have done full transcripts for all of them, but this one alone took almost six hours and I do have a job and a life (the latter is debatable).

3. Review: Buffy Season 8 #37 - "Last Gleaming, Part 2"
For months now, my Buffy comic reviews have dominated my traffic, but as you'll soon see, it appears another fan base is asserting its dominance.

2. Buffyfest at New England Comic Con 2010
Of all the Buffyfest related posts, it makes sense that this was the most popular for two reasons. #1, it went up first. #2, it has everything. All the pictures and videos from my weekend at New England Comic Con are right here, and people seem to have enjoyed that.

1. Glee "Duets" Reaction/Song Review
Remember that other fan base I mentioned above? Yeah, it's "Glee" fans, or "Gleeks". There may only be one Glee-related post among the five most popular posts from this month, but my "Top 10 favorite things about Glee" post from August was fourth overall, and there are four "Glee" posts in the top 20. Not bad for a show I didn't start watching until August.

Gossip Girl "Belles Du Jour" Rapid Review
I already mentioned the Glee post above (which was the "post with staying power" from September too, so let me instead give the honors to this review of the "Gossip Girl" Season 4 Premiere, which was the 7th-most trafficked post of the month.

Sofia Vergara

To be fair, she was also the only one. Yay for technicalities!
