Jersey Monday: Antwaan Randle El

While watching the Steelers game yesterday, I was reminded that Antwaan Randle El is back in Pittsburgh, after some disappointing years in Washington.

Over the past couple years, despite this being an out-of-date jersey, I actually wore this jersey pretty frequently, since it was the perfect jersey to balance the interests between my favorite team (the Redskins) and my family's favorite team (the Steelers) while also getting some extra use out of an authentic jersey that cost a pretty penny.

No matter how disappointing Randle El was in Washington, and no matter how bad he is in his second stint in Pittsburgh (and obviously the jury's still out on that) he'll always have one of the greatest highlight's in Super Bowl history, throwing a 43-yard touchdown to help the Steelers win Super Bowl XL over the Seahawks (and yes, the Steelers won that game, the refs didn't hand it to them).

Between this jersey, my Hines Ward authentic and my Plaxico Burress replica (from WAY back in the day, relatively), I've got three Steelers WR jerseys, of the four Steelers jerseys I own. I probably should consider adding another position to that lineup, but I'm not investing in a Rapethlisberger jersey any time soon.

Jersey Monday will continue every Monday until I run out of jerseys to spotlight. And since I’ve got more than 150 of them, that could be awhile.
