Desktop Girl of the Week: Sofia Vergara

The 2010 Desktop Girl Tournament has come and gone, and champion Scarlett Johansson is just about wrapping up her week-long victory tour around Hollywood (Note: probably not true), so it's time to resume making weekly Desktop Girl of the Week selections.

It's also time for another change to DGOW, which moves from Tuesday to Wednesday, if for no reason other than I couldn't get to it yesterday (though, to be fair, it breaks up the guaranteed weekly features of this site a bit, with This Week in Buffy History on Sunday and Jersey Monday on... you can figure it out).

I'm starting up the new Desktop Girl selections with one of my favorite actresses on TV today, Sofia Vergara. It's not even fair to call her a "girl". She's a true woman, and I'm not just saying that because she's 38 years old. I mean, just look at her. Hell, let's bring back that stirring chocolate milk GIF from earlier this season...

Vergara can currently be seen weekly on "Modern Family" -- a show that'd be worth watching even if they didn't have her stir stuff almost every week -- but I was first introduced to her back on ABC's "Knights of Prosperity", a sitcom that was unfortunately short-lived, but is definitely worth tracking down, because it's damn funny.

I could go on and on, but let's be honest, you're not even looking at the words here. You're still staring at that GIF. That's fine. I'll just leave you with this: Vergara has had brown hair in most of her U.S. roles, but she's actually a natural blonde. Yes, she has hair. Yes, I know that's not what you're looking at.

As always with DGOW, I’ll provide a widescreen (1680x1050) image for downloading. If you want to see past DGOW, then just check the archive album.
