Buffyfest at New England Comic Con 2010

A few months ago when Wizard World announced the "Buffyfest" lineup for New England Comic Con, I knew I had to be here. A couple weeks ago, I finally made the plunge and bought the platinum VIP package, which was totally expensive, but through two days has proven to be totally worth it.

The guest lineup for just the Buffyfest portion of the show is Amber Benson (Tara), Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Clare Kramer (Glory), James Marsters (Spike), Mercedes McNab (Harmony) and Mark Metcalf (The Master). I've never been to a show before that had so many Buffy guests in one place, so this was awesome for me.

As part of my VIP package, I got professional photos taken with everyone above except Metcalf, and I may splurge and pay for his photo op tomorrow. I also got plenty of signed items, including getting my "Chosen Collection" DVD box set signed by everyone above, plus Doug Jones, who played one of the Gentlemen in "Hush". It might be my new favorite signed Buffy item.

Today (Saturday) there were three Buffy related Q&A sessions: James Marsters, Nicholas Brendon and Charisma Carpenter. All three were amazing in their own ways, and I recorded all of them for posterity. I even asked a question of both Nick and Charisma, and got cool answers from both of them (check the eventual video for what they said). One of the best things about having the special VIP access has been line-jumping. The lines for autographs, photo ops and Q&As have been insanely long all weekend, but no lines for me. Plus, I got front row seating at the Q&As -- and the James Marsters concert tonight -- so the pass has been invaluable.

As much as the two days so far have been about photo ops, autographs, Q&A panels and concerts (well, just one concert), it's also been about meeting other Buffy fans who've been so friendly and fun to be around. I wish I could remember everyone's name to thank them personally for making this a weekend to remember, but I suck with names.

I do not, however, suck at taking photos and videos. My hotel internet connection here in Boston hasn't been great so far, so I haven't been able to get a lot uploaded, but I do have an album started on Picasa, as well as a piece of the Charisma Carpenter Q&A. Hit the jump for both of them, and check back here Sunday night (and more likely Monday) for the rest of the imagery from the weekend.
