Desktop Girl of the Week: Erin Karpluk

Since I watched 25 hours of her show in the last week, it's only fair that I make Erin Karpluk -- the star of "Being Erica -- this week's Desktop Girl of the Week.

Karpluk is just the 6th Canadian to earn DGOW honors on, joining Elisha Cuthbert, Evangeline Lilly, Anna Paquin, Avril Lavigne and Jill Hennessy.

Karpluk isn't particularly well-known to American audiences, since "Being Erica" is buried on SoapNet, but that could change soon, as she's currently featured in a recurring role on the critically-acclaimed CW series "Life Unexpected".

She's had guest spots on "Bionic Woman", "The L Word" and "Flash Gordon", so she's not completely unknown to American audiences, but the bulk of her work has been done north of the border. And while "Being Erica" is airing on SoapNet, Season 1 hasn't been released on DVD in the U.S. (though Canada is also part of Region 1, so the Canadian DVD release will work fine here if you can track it down).

As always with DGOW, I’ll provide a widescreen (1680x1050) image for downloading. If you want to see past DGOW, then just check the archive album.
