• I still can’t believe the Redskins lost to the freakin’ Cowboys at home. The worst part about it? Marion Barber actually helped my fantasy team. Next year, I’m definitely not doing fantasy football (I know I said that last year, but I got sucked in again this year). I need to care more about the real games again.

• The Cavaliers are off to a great start. I really feel like this year’s team is put together well enough to succeed, not only in the regular season, but also the playoffs. Mo Williams is the right kind of point guard to play alongside LeBron -- one who doesn’t need to dominate the ball.

• I can’t believe Dustin Pedroia won the AL MVP. I know he had a good season, but he’s definitely not a traditional MVP candidate. He didn’t hit a huge number of homers, and, honestly, he’s short. He just doesn’t look like an MVP.

• According to a report in the New York Daily News, Pedro Martinez wants to come back to the Mets. I can’t express enough how opposed to this I am. At this point, Pedro is 37 years old, hasn’t pitched a full season in 3 years, and in 2 of the last 3 years, he’s had an ERA+ of under 100 (i.e., worse than league average). He simply can’t be relied on as a rotation starter. So, no, Pedro, you can’t come back.
