Being a vampire sucks...

Yes, it was a bad joke when you first heard it as a kid, it was a bad joke when “Moonlight” used it in the series premiere three weeks ago, and it’s a bad joke now. But it’s true.

No, I’m not a literal vampire, but I live vampire hours. Even on days when I’m not working, I find it hard to go to sleep before 4 a.m. I generally work from 5:30 at night until 3 in the morning. By the time I get out of work, get in my car, and get home, it’s just before 4 a.m. Then I’m in bed at 5 a.m. and I usually sleep until 2 p.m.

No, I don’t sleep in a coffin, but I do sleep in a room that’s darkened by black curtains (on my windows and door). And I don’t have any mirrors in my bedroom. And I do have an alter. So yeah, I’m a little weird like that.

But mostly, my hours screw with my social life. If I want to ask someone out, it has to be on a Sunday or Monday, or for a mid-afternoon date on Tuesday through Saturday. Yeah, ‘cause early-bird dinners are pretty damn awesome. And my hanging-out time with my friends is nearly non-existent.

But I’m looking past that right now -- starting Tuesday, it’s Kelly Clarkson week on! I plan on making her DGOW again (even though she got it just a few weeks ago), I’ll have my Fave 5 Kelly Clarkson songs on Wednesday, and then it all leads up to Sunday night, when I go to the Kelly Clarkson “My December” Tour at Mohegan Sun. Next Monday I’ll be sure to have a concert review. It’s no “Jessica Biel Week” but I’ll take what I can get at this point.
