Productive Day Off

So I had a day off for the first time in nine days (my last day off was actually the last time I posted here) and I actually got a whole bunch of stuff done. I managed to go grocery shopping -- and picked up some popcorn chicken which I cooked up nicely for dinner -- and finish all my laundry as well as clean the condo.

I'm still using Blog.Mac for this site, though I'm also still in trial mode. I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I just wish there was an option for turning off the little picture sound the iSight feed makes when it uploads something. I'll probably suggest that to the developer when I get a chance. For now, I just have to mute the sound on my G5 when I go to sleep.

So I'm back on a big Buffy collecting kick right now. I actually made up a spreadsheet of all the Buffy 6-inch figures released so far (and those that have been announced but not actually released yet). By my count, there are 95, give or take some convention exclusives, and I've got 33 so far. I did pick up both Hell's Bells and Once More, With Feeling Anya since my last post, and I went with The House Always Wins Lorne instead of Judgement Lorne. Plus, I also got a great deal on Grave Spike from CineQuest.com, and I won a few older figures on eBay today. Basically, if I can pay less than retail for a figure that's long since been discontinued, I will. Once I actually receive some of the ones I've ordered, I may actually take pictures of all of them and post a nice photo gallery. For now, the wide shots in the condo gallery will have to hold you over.

Oh, and I'm mega excited about football season. I actually have the first Sunday of the NFL season off, plus I'm opening on the first Thursday, so I can watch the Raiders destroy the Patriots and break Tom Brady in half (or, more likely, watch the Patriots romp to another uninspiring, communist-like victory, but one can always hope). My fantasy roster is pretty much set, and here's what I've got:

QBs: Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Joey Harrington
RBs: Edgerrin James, Corey Dillon, Carnell Williams, JJ Arrington
WRs: Michael Clayton, Laveranues Coles, Jimmy Smith, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Charles Rodgers
TE: Antonio Gates
K: Matt Stover
DEF: Cincinnati

Obviously, right now my biggest problem is that Antonio Gates won't be playing Week 1. Still, I'm not willing to cut anyone I have just yet for the sole purpose of picking up a one week fill-in at TE. My hope is that Harrington starts the season on fire, and I can trade him for some help at other positions, if I need it.

If you want to track my roster throughout the season, just follow this link: Teeny Boppers. Yes, my team is called the Teeny Boppers. Would you expect any less from me?

Oh, also, I wanted to mention that I tracked down my "projects" folder for my old blog. Stuff I intended to post in long, detailed posts, but never got around to it. I'm going to try to do it here eventually, but for now, here's a list of the stuff that's in there:

Miami Football Dynasty
NBA Champions of the last 26 years
Online Personality quizzes
My technology and it's naming conventions

Well, that's it for today. I've probably bored you all to tears with the mundane nature of my life. Now I'm going to sit back and watch some of the sadder Buffy episodes there were (not sure why, just what I'm in the mood for). If you're interested, I'm starting with "The Body," moving on to "Tabula Rasa" and if I'm still awake, I'll finish with "Becoming, Pt. II."

Until next time, be seeing you...
